 How to create CL accounts with catchall domain?
Article In order to create CL accounts with randomly generated E-mails @ catchall domain, you need to do the following:
  1. Create a separate campaign in CLAD that will be used for newly created CL accounts. In order to do that, click on "Campaign management" button on the top toolbar to the right of the campaign selector drop-down box and select "New campaign". Pick unique name for your campaign, for instance, "Catchall CL accounts", enter it in the "Campaign name" box and press OK. You can skip this step if you already have the campaign in CLAD that you want to use for this purpose.
  2. Select the campaign that will be used for newly created CL accounts from the campaign selector drop-down box on the top toolbar. Click on Campaign management" button on the top toolbar to the right of the campaign selector drop-down box and select "Change campaign properties". In the "Catchall domain" box, enter your catchall domain, without @ prefix. Assuming your catchall domain is mydomain.com, you need to enter "mydomain.com" in the box.
  3. Find "Use random E-mails with catchall account" setting under Properties and select "True" there. (You are still in the campaign properties window)
  4. If you want to use custom template for your E-mails, enter it under "Template for random E-mail creation" (You are still in the campaign properties window). You can use the same keywords in the template that you would use under settings/accounts/hotmail or settings/accounts/gmail.   5. Click OK to save campaign properties
  6. Go to Accounts tab, E-mail, E-mail servers. Press "+" button and enter the information about your catchall domain in the boxes:
    • Under "Server name" you can enter arbitrary descriptive name for your catchall domain
    • Under "Domain name" you need to enter your catchall domain name, in our example it is "mydomain.com" (without quote marks)
    • Under "POP3 host name or IP" you need to enter the name of the POP3 server for your catchall domain that allows to retrieve mail from the catchall domain. Usually it is "mail.mydomain.com", consult with your catchall domain provider if unsure
    • Under "POP3 server port" you need to enter TCP port number to access POP3 server for your catchall domain. Usually it is 110, consult with your catchall domain provider if unsure
    • Check "Use SSL" box if your POP3 server requires secure connection. If unsure, leave unchecked or consult with your catchall domain provider
    • Under "POP3 login type" select the format of the login string that your POP3 server supports, consult with your catchall domain provider if unsure
    • Leave "Limit POP3 access" box at 0.
    • Click OK.
  7. Go to Accoutns tab, E-mail, E-mail accounts. Press "+" button on the toolbar and enter the E-mail account that can be used to retrieve mail directed to your catchall domain:
    1. Under "E-mail server", select the server that you added in the previous step
    2. Under "mailbox username" enter the login that is used to access your catchall account mailbox, consult with your catchall domain provider if unsure
    3. Under "password" enter the password that is used to access your catchall account mailbox, consult with your catchall domain provider if unsure
    4. Under "Campaign" select campaign that you used in the previous steps. It is important that you select the same campaign that you configured for catchall domain in earlier steps
    5. Check "Master account" box
    6. Make sure that "Disabled" box is unchecked
    7. You can enter anything you like in other fields
    8. Press OK to save the account
  8. Make sure that "Validate E-mail accounts automatically" box is checked under settings/automation.
  9. Start the scheduler (press START button in the top left corner of the top toolbar) to validate newly entered E-mail account. If you did everything correctly, the account will turn green in a few minutes. If it does not turn green - that means CLAD is not able to read E-mail messages from the account you configured for some reason. Analyse the error/warning messages in the log and/or consult with your catchall domain provider to fix the issue. You cannot proceed to the next steps until your E-mail account is dark (bold) green in the list.
  10. Go to Accounts tab, Craigslist accounts and press "Create Craigslist accounts" button on the toolbar. Enter number of the accounts you want to create and select campaign that you used in the previous steps. It is important that you select the same campaign that you configured for catchall domain in earlier steps
  11. Click OK to start creation process.
