Out of memory exceptions
Out of memory exceptions
Article
If you get OutOfMemory exceptions and you are sure that you have enough free memory (RAM) on your computer, you may want to check the following:
1. If you have been posting for a long time (few months), you may have a lot of unneeded posting history polluting the database and taking up memory. Try to clean it up by selecting your ads and pressing Group processing -> Remove posting history from the selected ads
2. CLAD's E-mail cache may be overwhelmed with messages from your E-mail accounts, try to clean these up by going to Accounts/E-mail tab, navigating through your E-mail accounts and if you see a lot of messages in the "Messages" area to the right of the list of E-mail accounts for any particular account - press "Remove processed" button
3. Make sure you do not use huge images (more than 1Mb in size) when attaching them to your ads under ad properties -> Pictures tab
4. If you are validating/creating hotmail accounts, you will get out of memory exceptions every 20-30 accounts. Unfortunately, there is little we can do about this, because these memory errors are caused by memory leaks in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers when processing heavy hotmail pages. It is not CLAD who consumes the memory, but the browser. But since the browser is embedded in CLAD, once too much memory is consumed - CLAD will crash. You can easily verify that the problem is not related to CLAD, but has to do with the browser. Open your ordinary Internet Explorer or Firefox browser, log in to hotmail account, then start navigating through the pages, then log out, log in to the next one and so on. When you do this, watch memory usage in Windows task manager. You will see that your browser's memory usage will increase steadily, and at some point (after 20-30 accounts), it will either crash or start slowing down considerably. And you will have to restart the browser to continue. So far, we have not found another way to resolve this issue but to restart CLAD every so often, just as you would do with the browser in the previous example
